The Bennett Centre
Community space for Frome
Welcome to the Bennett Centre
in the heart of Frome

Situated in the heart of Frome, The Bennett Centre is a community venue run by St John's Church with several distinctive spaces for hire. The Bennett Centre has been lovingly restored over several years as funds have allowed. We are very proud of our aim to preserve the heritage of this historical building while enabling it to be used as an accessible space for the communities of Frome.

New doors for the cloister
We are delighted to announce that, thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, we have been able to install access-friendly, fully glazed external doors leading from the entrance courtyard into the lower part of the building.

The previous door was an ill-fitting, flimsy, narrow wooden ‘site style’ door with a draughty gap at the bottom and a step down into the courtyard.
The new doors have immediately made the building more accessible and improved security. In addition they have let much needed light into the cloister area, and, in conjunction with some associated work with the stone floor of the courtyard, access to the building is now level. The new doors will also keep the heat in and the cold out more effectively in winter.
